Effectiveness

How Desvenlafaxine Succinate Affects PatientsDesvenlafaxine is a drug that works on certain chemicals in the brain (serotonin and norepinephrine) to help with depression. It does not interact with most other drugs, and its dose does not need to be adjusted much. It does not affect the activity of certain receptors, ion channels, or an enzyme called MAO. It also has no effect on the hERG potassium channel, which is important to the heart. Compared to other SNRIs, desvenlafaxine is easier to take as it does not have to be adjusted much and rarely interacts with other drugs.
How Desvenlafaxine Succinate works in the bodyDesvenlafaxine works by blocking the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. It does this more effectively for serotonin than norepinephrine, and least effectively for dopamine. It doesn't interact with any other receptors or enzymes in the body.

Desvenlafaxine Succinate for Depression
I've been on antidepressants for a very long time, and this is by far the best one I've tried. Recently, my husband was having some issues with other medications, but once he switched to desvenlafaxine he was back to normal. I'm really happy with the results.

Desvenlafaxine Succinate for Depression
I felt like a new person after taking this drug. I had so much more energy and didn't feel exhausted all the time. The only downside is that it caused some insomnia, but nothing that a low dose of Seroquel couldn't help with.
