Effectiveness

How Chlor-Trimeton Affects Patients

Allergic reactions occur when an allergen causes antibodies on mast cells and basophils to interact. This triggers the release of chemicals like histamine, which can cause itching, flushing, headache, and difficulty breathing. Chlorpheniramine is a medication that blocks histamine from attaching to its receptor sites, providing temporary relief from sneezing, watery eyes, itchy eyes, and a runny nose caused by hay fever and other allergies.

How Chlor-Trimeton works in the body

Chlorpheniramine works by blocking histamine from attaching to the histamine H1 receptor. This helps to reduce the effects of histamine in the body, providing temporary relief of symptoms.

When to interrupt dosage

The endorsed dosage of Chlor-Trimeton is contingent upon the diagnosed disorder, including upper respiratory manifestations, Coughing and Inflammation. The amount of dosage is contingent upon the method of delivery (e.g. Kit; Syrup - Oral or Liquid - Oral) featured in the below table.

Chlor-Trimeton for Inflammation of the Nose due to an Allergy

Chlortrimeton has been a life-saver for me, as I have terrible seasonal allergies. It's always worked well and without any side effects--which is more than I can say for other allergy medications. The only downside is that the 12 hour pill is no longer available; since Merck took over Shering-Plough, the 4 hour pill is all that's left on the market.

Chlor-Trimeton for Sinus Headache

I've been using this product for decades, and it's really helped me with sinus headaches. I find that if I take the medication at the first sign of a headache, it goes away pretty quickly and doesn't ruin my day.

Chlor-Trimeton for Allergic Conjunctivitis

I found that the 12 mg dosage was much better than the 4 mg tablet. According to the manufacturer, it should be available again early this spring.

Chlor-Trimeton for Inflammation of the Nose due to an Allergy

Chlor-Trimeton 12mg 12 hour was the best allergy medication for my allergies. It really controlled my symptoms and I didn't have to take it as often as the 4mg version.

Chlor-Trimeton for Allergic Conjunctivitis

I had given up hope on ever finding an allergy medication that actually worked well AND didn't make me drowsy. Chlortrimeton was a life-changer for me in that it quickly cleared up my sneezing and sniffling without any grogginess. The only downside is having to take it every four hours, but it's definitely worth it!

Chlor-Trimeton for Runny Nose

I take this medication when I have a combination of symptoms, like a stuffed up head and/or runny nose. It's more expensive than other over-the-counter drugs, but it's worth it to me because it works better than the generic versions.

Middle Meningeal Artery Stimulation for Migraine

18 - 100
All Sexes
Galveston, TX

This study is testing a new way to help with migraine headaches. Researchers want to see if it's safe and doable to stimulate a blood vessel in the head (called the middle meningeal artery) with microcatheters and microwires. This has never been done before for migraines and is an investigational treatment that is not part of standard migraine treatment. This stimulation would happen just before giving the standard lidocaine treatment, which is already routinely used for migraines. The goal is to see whether this new step could help improve headache outcomes. Two FDA-cleared medical devices will be used, the Cadwell Cascade 32 PRO and the Cadwell Guardian IONM System, to perform the stimulation and monitoring. In this study, the Cascade 32 PRO will be used in a way that is not part of its usual approved purpose (this is called "off-label" use) to gently deliver electrical pulses through a microcatheter. The Cadwell Guardian IONM System will be used in its normal, FDAapproved way for continuous monitoring during stimulation.

Behavioral Nudge Texts for Flu Vaccination

Any Age
All Sexes
Aurora, CO

Influenza infection leads to significant morbidity and mortality each year. Influenza vaccines can reduce the risk of flu and the severity of flu illness, In addition, flu vaccinations can reduce flu complications such as pneumonia or worsening of chronic heart or lung disease. Each year, Kaiser Permanente of Colorado offers influenza vaccines to patients at no cost either at primary care clinic appointments or flu walk-in clinics in the fall prior to the upcoming flu season. In addition, as part of clinic appointment reminder text messages, there is a message to get the flu vaccine for patients who have not received the vaccine prior to the clinic visit. Building on these flu reminder text messages for patients who have not received a flu vaccine, this study will test different behavioral nudge text messages to improve influenza vaccination rates.

Dietary Intervention for Migraine

18 - 75
All Sexes
Washington D.C., United States

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether a low-glutamate diet can improve migraine symptoms in adults with migraine and to explore possible biological changes associated with dietary improvement. The study focuses on whether reducing dietary glutamate intake may influence processes involved in migraine, such as brain excitation, inflammation, and oxidative stress. The main questions this study aims to answer are: Does following a low-glutamate diet reduce the number of migraine days and the severity and duration of migraine attacks, and improve quality of life? Are improvements in migraine symptoms associated with changes in blood-based biological markers related to migraine activity? Researchers will compare participants assigned to the low-glutamate diet with participants assigned to a wait-list control group to evaluate differences in migraine outcomes and related biological measures. Participants will: Complete a baseline run-in period while tracking headaches using a daily migraine diary Either follow a low-glutamate dietary intervention or continue their usual diet as part of a wait-list control Complete standardized questionnaires related to migraine symptoms and quality of life Provide blood samples for laboratory analyses Undergo neuroimaging assessments (for a subset of participants)

VR-Enhanced PMR for Post-Burn Symptoms

18+
All Sexes
Baltimore, MD

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), delivered either alone or enhanced with virtual reality (VR), can help treat chronic symptom, such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue, in adult burn survivors. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does VR-enhanced PMR (VR-PMR) reduce chronic pain, anxiety, itch, sleep disturbances, and fatigue more effectively than standard PMR? * Is VR-PMR a feasible and acceptable self-administered home-based intervention for burn survivors? Researchers will compare two self-administered intervention conditions, VR-enhanced PMR and standard PMR, using a randomized to sequence crossover design to see if VR technology enhances the therapeutic effects of PMR on chronic symptom management in burn survivors. Participants will: * Complete home-based sessions of VR-enhanced PMR * Complete home-based sessions of standard PMR * Report symptoms such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue throughout the study * Use VR equipment provided for the intervention period (during the VR-PMR arm)

Andover, MA

This study is researching 2 experimental drugs, REGN5713 and REGN5715. The study drugs will be either of these drugs given alone (either REGN5713 or REGN5715) or given together (REGN5713 and REGN5715) to reduce eye allergy signs and symptoms due to birch tree pollen allergy. The aim of the study is to see how safe and effective the study drugs are at lowering eye allergy signs and symptoms compared with placebo. The study will also evaluate whether the combination (REGN5713-5715) has different effectiveness than REGN5713 or REGN5715 alone. The study is looking at several other research questions, including: * What side effects may happen from taking the study drugs * How much of the study drugs is in the blood at different times * Whether the body makes antibodies against the study drugs (which could make the drug less effective or could lead to side effects)
