Effectiveness
How Cequa Affects PatientsCyclosporine is a drug that helps stop the body from rejecting organ or bone marrow transplants. It also helps to control serious immune reactions, like allograft rejection, graft versus host disease, and autoimmune disease. There are some known side effects associated with taking cyclosporine such as hair growth, swollen gums, and high cholesterol levels. It is also thought that it may cause kidney damage.
How Cequa works in the bodyCyclosporine works by blocking the activity of T cells, which are white blood cells that help fight off infection and inflammation. It does this by binding to a receptor inside cells, which prevents a molecule called calcineurin from activating a transcription factor called NF-AT. This stops the production of cytokines that are involved in the inflammatory process and also prevents T cell activation and proliferation. Cyclosporine also decreases levels of other factors related to T helper cell function and thymocyte development.

Cequa Reviews: What are patients saying about Cequa?
5Patient Review
6/22/2022 I had been struggling with dry eyes for almost two years when I was prescribed this medication. Within 48 hours, there was a drastic improvement! My eyes aren't bloodshot red all the time anymore, and I'm really happy with the results. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey.

9/24/2022 I'm a 60-year-old woman who's had dry eyes for at least 15 years. Restasis didn't do anything for me, and Xiidra set my eyes on fire for hours; I was only able to use it for a week before stopping in distress. I tried going back to Systane and other lubricant drops 12+ times per day, and found that if I used Systane first, then Cequa later, my eyes were much more comfortable. I still use Systane occasionally (4-5 times per day), but this combination has really helped me have more comfortable days.

3/14/2022 It's very painful to use, and I only started a week ago. I had to stop for a day because the burning was too much to handle. It does work in that it produces tears, but the pain is difficult to justify. Additionally, I feel warmth on my eyes even when they're closed.

5/16/2021 These drops have been a nightmare. Whenever I use them, my eyes burn for hours afterwards. I've used them for months now, and my eyes are actually more red than when I started. It's like it accelerated the dry eye process.
2.7Patient Review
8/5/2020 I've been using it for a little more than two months now. There's a slight burning sensation when I apply it, but my doctor says I should continue treatment for at least six months. Here's hoping this will be the answer to my prayers.
