Overdosing on amantadine can lead to heart issues, breathing problems, kidney damage, and damage to the nervous system. Symptoms of cardiac dysfunction can include abnormal heart rhythm, rapid heart rate, and high blood pressure. Other effects may include confusion, disorientation, hallucinations, aggression, hyperactivity, seizures, and coma. Hyperthermia (high body temperature) may also be present.

I've been taking this for two weeks to help with my MS. It does give me more energy, but I'm not sure if the side effects are worth it. They include: shaking, weakness, and hand tremors. Going to talk to my doctor soon.

Amantadine Hydrochloride for Parkinson's Disease
Amantadine has helped me feel better overall, with fewer "off" periods. The only downside is that it seems to cause insomnia, but so far that's the only negative effect I've noticed.
