How Fallback Solo Affects PatientsLevonorgestrel is used for emergency contraception and as a component of hormonal therapy. When taken as emergency contraception within 72 hours of intercourse, it is 89% effective in preventing pregnancy. When used as an intrauterine or implantable device, it is more than 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. It works by interfering with ovulation, fertilization, and implantation. It has also been found to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer when taken as part of a hormonal therapy.
How Fallback Solo works in the bodyLevonorgestrel is a hormone used in birth control and hormone therapy. It works by preventing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the endometrium. This makes it difficult for sperm to reach an egg, decreasing the chance of pregnancy. Levonorgestrel also blocks the release of a hormone that causes the ovaries to release eggs.
