What is Amabelz

EstradiolThe Generic name of this drug
Treatment SummaryNorethisterone, also known as norethindrone, is a synthetic hormone that mimics the effects of the natural hormone progesterone. It is a second-generation hormone which is more potent than progesterone. Norethisterone is commonly used as part of a contraceptive or hormone replacement therapy. It was first created in 1951 and was initially used to treat irregular menstruation and endometriosis, but it wasn’t approved for use as an oral contraceptive until 1962.

Effectiveness

How Amabelz Affects PatientsNorethisterone is a type of hormone used to prevent pregnancy or to help with other hormone-related conditions. It works similarly to the hormone progesterone, but is more potent. Norethisterone acts in the pelvic area to change cervical and endometrial function, and also stops the hormones that control ovulation. Taking norethisterone or other combined oral contraceptives can increase the risk of developing breast cancer, so it is important for users to perform regular breast self-exams.
How Amabelz works in the bodyNorethisterone works in several ways. It thickens the cervical mucus to stop sperm from entering the uterus. It also changes the endometrium, making it an unsuitable place for an embryo to attach. Norethisterone also suppresses hormones that help with ovulation, preventing eggs from leaving the ovaries. When used in hormone replacement therapy, norethisterone helps protect against endometrial hyperplasia, which can increase the risk of endometrial cancer. Finally, norethisterone has a low affinity for other steroid receptors, like the androgen receptor and glucocorticoid

When to interrupt dosage
