Effectiveness

How Trandate Affects PatientsLabetalol works by blocking certain hormones that control blood pressure. It is usually taken twice a day and the dose can range from 200-400mg. People with asthma should not take labetalol unless other blood pressure medications have not worked for them.
How Trandate works in the bodyLabetalol works by blocking certain hormones which control the body's response to stress. This has the effect of widening blood vessels, which in turn lowers blood pressure. It also slows the heart rate slightly. The effects of labetalol last for a long time and don't decrease the heart's ability to pump blood or reduce the amount of blood pumped.

When to interrupt dosage

The recommended portion of Trandate is contingent upon the diagnosed condition, such as Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, Hypertensive Emergency and Chronic Stable Angina Pectoris. The amount of dosage is contingent upon the approach of delivery (e.g. Oral or Tablet, film coated - Oral) outlined in the table below.

Trandate for High Blood Pressure
This medication was prescribed to me by a cardiologist after my blood pressure spiked to an extremely dangerous level. Almost immediately, this treatment began effectively regulating my blood pressure.

Trandate for High Blood Pressure
I feel like my patient is being given too high of a dose for blood pressure medication. They have an RX for 300 mg twice a day, but I want to double check and see if that's what other people think is appropriate.

Trandate for High Blood Pressure
I began this treatment to help me get pregnant. I started with 200mg twice a day, and now I'm up to 300mg 3 times a day. It took some getting used to the side effects like tingly head, headaches, and numbness in legs; but now they seem manageable. Also have to be careful about my diet and not overindulging in alcohol while on this medication because it raises my blood pressure if I do.

Trandate for High Blood Pressure
While Trandate has been successful in lowering my blood pressure, I have unfortunately experienced a significant decline in kidney function since beginning the medication.

Trandate for High Blood Pressure
While this medication has helped lower my blood pressure, I still have issues with swelling and weight loss.

What class of drug is Trandate?

"Trandate is a prescription medicine that is used to treat the symptoms of high blood pressure (hypertension). It may be used alone or with other medications. Trandate belongs to a class of drugs called beta-blockers, alpha activity."

Answered by AI

What is Trandate used for?

"Labetalol is used to lower blood pressure, either with or without other medications. High blood pressure can lead to strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems, so lowering it can help prevent these issues. Labetalol works as both an alpha blocker and beta blocker."

Answered by AI

Is Trandate the same as labetalol?

"A healthcare provider will give you the IV form if you have very high blood pressure that needs to be lowered immediately.

The oral tablet form of labetalol is available as both a brand-name drug and a generic drug. The brand name for this form of labetalol is Trandate. Labetalol also comes in an intravenous (IV) injection form. A healthcare provider will give you the IV form if you have very high blood pressure that needs to be lowered immediately."

Answered by AI

What are the side effects of Trandate?

"You may feel dizzy, have a spinning sensation, feel tired, nauseous, have an upset stomach, a stuffy nose, or a tired feeling, or have difficulty having an orgasm."

Natriuretic peptides (NPs) are hormones produced by the heart and play an important role in maintaining cardiovascular health and have favorable metabolic benefits. Low NP levels are associated with an increased likelihood of the development of cardiometabolic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. NP levels are known to be highly heritable, with up to half of the differences in NP levels being explained by genetics. The investigators aim to describe the genetic architecture of NPs by examining the genetic variants associated with NPs, and generate and validate a polygenic score (PGS) for NPs. The investigators will use this NP PGS to examine the association of genetically determined NP levels with cardiometabolic and cardiovascular outcomes. The investigators will conduct a genotype-guided physiological clinical trial that aims to assess the genetic factors affecting NP levels and their impact on blood pressure and NP response to saline infusion, high-salt diet, and low-salt diet. These findings will help support personal medicine approaches to lower the increasing burden of hypertension in the United States.

This project is part of the ACHIEVE GREATER (Addressing Cardiometabolic Health In Populations Through Early PreVEntion in the GREAT LakEs Region) Center (IRB# 100221MP2A), the purpose of which is to improve cardiometabolic health in two uniquely comparable cities: Detroit, Michigan, and Cleveland, Ohio. The ACHIEVE GREATER Center involves separate but related projects that aim to improve cardiometabolic health outcomes through better risk factor control for three chronic conditions that are of tremendous public health importance, (hypertension (HTN), heart failure, and coronary heart disease), all of which contribute significantly to premature death in Detroit and Cleveland. The present study is the prospective observational cohort component of ACHIEVE P1- EPI (Project 1) of the ACHIEVE GREATER Center and serves to characterize the population of patients with blood pressure (BP) levels above normal attending The Wayne Health Mobile Health Unit (MHU) events to better understand key factors (e.g., social determinants of health) that convey information about baseline BP levels and related clinical outcomes (e.g., follow-up clinic visits, BP control, and cardiovascular events).

This project aims to address healthcare disparities among Navaho people diagnosed with hypertension or prehypertension through three main objectives. Firstly, it identifies and shares insights on healthcare access disparities affecting Navaho individuals experiencing nonadherence to hypertension treatment. Secondly, the proposal develops a telehealth solution based on factors identified as knowledge gaps caused by healthcare access disparities in hypertension management; we will use the factors to design a series of engaging minigames that can be incorporated into the larger CardioCare Quest. These minigames will be co-designed with end users and clinicians. Finally, the proposal conducts comprehensive qualitative and quantitative assessments of user experiences, perceptions, and challenges with CardioCare Quest.

Though the Mississippi Delta has a rich agricultural history and some of the nation's most fertile soil, residents have experienced the legacy of slavery and economic exploitation through food insecurity and poverty for generations. This project focuses on Bolivar, Washington, and Sunflower, contiguous counties in the Delta that are designated as health disparity populations. Over 65% of the 100,000 residents are Black/African American and \~30% live at or below the poverty level. Obesity rates are high and the rate of diabetes is almost double the national average. Tufts University received a grant from the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities to develop, test, and evaluate a Food is Medicine program in Mississippi. The Delta Growing a Resilient, Enriching, Equitable, Nourishing food System (GREENS) Food is Medicine (FIM) Project, is a collaborative project in Bolivar, Washington, and Sunflower counties in Mississippi. The intervention involves regularly distributed fruit and vegetable produce boxes as well as nutrition education materials to the intervention group. The control group will receive produce boxes later, after they complete study activities. The project's primary goal is to improve health outcomes by creating a FIM intervention. The Delta GREENS FIM Project aims to become a model for promoting nutrition security and management of chronic conditions in varied communities nationwide.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether putting a participant's legs in a hot bath after exercise improves blood pressure in people with higher blood pressure. . The main questions it aims to answer are: * Whether exercise alone, hot water leg bath alone, or both treatments together cause blood pressure to be lower during sleep. * If there are any changes in heart rhythm or blood vessel health after exercise, hot water leg bath, or the two treatments together that relate to changes in blood pressure. Participants will complete four different trials: * 30 minutes of walking with a 45-minute lukewarm leg bath after * 30 minutes of walking with a 45-minute hot leg bath after * 45 minutes of a hot leg bath with no exercise * A day with no exercise or leg bath Researchers will look at heart rhythm, blood vessels, and blood pressure after each of these trials to see if there are differences, and if exercise and heat together can improve heart health more than exercise or heat alone.
