How Testim Affects Patients

Testosterone works by stimulating the growth of male sex organs and characteristics. It can last anywhere from 10-100 minutes in a patient. In general, a healthy adult man should have between 300-1000ng/dL of testosterone in their blood. Taking testosterone can be dangerous for children, so it is important to warn patients of the risks of secondary exposure.

How Testim works in the body

The androgen receptor helps the body develop masculine sex organs and secondary sexual characteristics. It binds to testosterone and its active metabolite dihydrotestosterone, which allow it to move into the nucleus of cells and activate genes that lead to these changes. This leads to the development of organs like the prostate, seminal vesicles, penis, and scrotum, as well as facial and body hair, a bigger larynx, thicker vocal cords, and changes in muscle and fat distribution.

I'm 46 and my initial lab result was 319. I had to switch to Fortesta because of insurance, but I've been on samples of Testim for six weeks now. I've experienced some minor side effects, like acne and unexpected erections, but nothing too serious. It's increased my libido and overall energy levels when lifting, which is great. Overall, an effective medicine that I would recommend.

The gel has a strong alcohol smell, but it works. You have to apply it to a hairless area for it to be effective, so the shoulders are the best bet. The good news/bad news is that it also causes hair growth in the areas you apply it, so I now have a hairy back and upper arms.

The smell of this medication makes me and everyone I know nauseous. We were all much happier on Androgel, but my insurance company said we had to switch to this.

The product is effective to a degree, but the smell is unbearable. Androgel was much more effective and didn't have any scent. My insurance company only pays for Testim now, so I had to get creative. I mixed Testim with my cologne, and now the application is easier and the scent is bearable.

The stickiness and time required to fully rub this in and for it to dry makes for a truly miserable experience. Results of increased testosterone in my blood work is typically not very good.

Leflutrozole for Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate three doses of the drug leflutrozole on improvement of semen quality in men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, a condition that affects hormone levels and fertility. It will also study the safety of leflutrozole. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does leflutrozole improve semen quality? * What medical problems do participants experience when taking leflutrozole? Researchers will compare leflutrozole to a placebo (a look-alike substance that contains no drug). Participants will: * Take leflutrozole or a placebo orally once a week for 16 weeks. * Visit the clinic every 4 weeks for checkups and tests. * Provide semen samples to measure changes in semen quality. * Have their blood tested to measure hormone levels and ensure safety. * Be monitored for any side effects.
