How Roxybond Affects PatientsOxycodone has effects on many parts of the body, including the brain stem, cough reflex, pupils, digestive system, blood vessels, hormones, and immune system. It can cause breathing to slow down, decrease the size of the pupils, slow digestion and cause constipation, cause itching, red eyes, flushing and sweating, change hormone levels, and possibly affect the immune system.

How Roxybond works in the bodyOxycodone works by targeting opioid receptors in your body, specifically in the brain, heart, lungs, liver, gastrointestinal tract, and reproductive system. These receptors are increased in conditions of inflammation or pain. Oxycodone and its active metabolites bind to these receptors and activate a G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway. This pathway blocks N-type voltage operated calcium channels and stops your body from responding to pain.

Roxybond Toxicity & Overdose RiskTaking too much oxycodone can lead to breathing problems, drowsiness, unconsciousness, weak muscles, cold sweats, small pupils, slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, snoring, and even death. Treatment includes maintaining airways and oxygen levels, using oxygen and medication to treat shock and fluid in the lungs, and using drugs such as Naloxone to counteract the effects of opioids. Pregnant women should use caution when taking oxycodone as animal studies have shown smaller offspring with lactation. Oxycodone is not known to cause cancer, but has been found to be genotoxic in some tests
