How Qnasl works in the bodyBeclomethasone dipropionate is a corticosteroid that is active once it enters the body and binds to the glucocorticoid receptor. This binds to genes that switch on anti-inflammatory proteins, like lipocortin-1 and interleukin-10, while also blocking pro-inflammatory genes like cytokines and adhesion molecules. This works by preventing transcription factors, like nuclear factor-kappa B, from accessing their binding sites. As a result, the inflammation process is dampened.

Qnasl Toxicity & Overdose RiskThe lowest toxic dose of beclometasone dipropionate in rats is greater than 3750mg/kg. In general, this drug has low acute toxicity. However, taking in large amounts of the drug over a short period of time can reduce the activity of the HPA axis. Taking too much of this drug for a long time may also cause adrenal suppression.

8/23/2016 Though my sinus issues were not resolved, this medication did provide some temporary relief. However, after a few days of taking the prescribed dosage I started to experience other problems like nosebleeds, a sore throat, and eventually lost my voice entirely. When I notified my doctor of these adverse effects, he told me to stop taking the medication immediately.
