It works by stopping the bacteria from being able to reproduce and spread, and has a strong effect on bacteria that other antibiotics can no longer fight. It has also been studied for its potential to treat malaria, cancer, and AIDS.
How Proquin Xr works in the bodyCiprofloxacin works by targeting the molecules that help bacterial DNA replicate. It stops these molecules from supercoiling the DNA, which stops the bacteria from being able to make new copies of itself.
