Fycompa for Additional Medication to Treat Partial Seizures

I haven't had a seizure in over 18 months since I started taking this medication, which is amazing. The occasional bout of dizziness is worth it to me to be seizure-free.

Fycompa for Additional Medication for Tonic-Clonic Epilepsy

This medication has been absolutely life-changing. I had a lot of problems before starting to take it, but since then I've been feeling better than ever.

Fycompa for Additional Medication to Treat Partial Seizures

I used to have seizures every morning when I woke up, but since I've been taking this medication, I haven't had a single one. It's truly a lifesaver.

Fycompa for Additional Medication to Treat Partial Seizures

On the plus side, this medication helps me sleep for much longer periods of time. However, I do feel more "out of it" than usual; though, since I only take it at night, it's not really a problem. It has proven very effective in reducing my seizure frequency.

Fycompa for Additional Medication to Treat Partial Seizures

I found that as my blood level rose, I became clumsy and dizzy. If I took it too close to bedtime, I would have trouble speaking and become euphoric. My insurance wasn't going to pay for it, so I weaned off it too quickly and after 7 days of stopping it, I had unbearable anguish that I knew was drug related. I had three sample packs; all of this happened after taking it for only 5 weeks. It has been almost a month since i took my last pill, and I still feel strange even now. This is a very scary drug.

Fycompa for Additional Medication for Tonic-Clonic Epilepsy

I started by taking 8mg tablets once a day before bed, but now my stomach is really sensitive to everything. I have nausea every morning, and it's just a never-ending cycle. I hate this medicine because it's the only one that has worked for me, but the side effects are really miserable.

Fycompa for Additional Medication for Tonic-Clonic Epilepsy

My 14 year old son started taking this medication and, since then, his grades have tanked, he's become unrecognizable personality-wise, and struggles to stay awake in school. The neurologist says these symptoms will eventually go away; I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
