How Betamethasone Valerate Affects PatientsCorticosteroids work by blocking signals in the body that cause inflammation and increasing signals that reduce inflammation. If a person needs to take corticosteroids for a long time, they should be aware of the risk of their body not producing the right amount of hormones, as well as a higher risk of infection.
How Betamethasone Valerate works in the bodyGlucocorticoids work in two ways to reduce inflammation. First, they stop the production of molecules that cause swelling, and promote the production of molecules that fight inflammation. Second, they can quickly affect cells that cause inflammation by using existing receptors and signals. Betamethasone is an example of a glucocorticoid that works this way.

1/7/2021 I have Dyshidrotic Eczema on my feet. I applied this ointment for 5 days twice daily and I have not seen much improvement. I am not sleeping at night due to the itching and must get up several times during the night to wash my feet in cold water. After reading more reviews it looks like Clobetasol is more effective and I have a note into my doctor now for a perscription for that instead.
