This project is a pilot study of an adapted intervention of an existing Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment retention intervention called Recovery Management Checkups (RMC). This intervention has been adapted to better fit the experiences and unique issues of those that have been hospitalized with serious injection related infections (SIRI) based on the findings from a prior qualitative study from the principal investigator. This project plans to test the adapted intervention within a smaller group of participants to assess feasibility, acceptability, and calculate early findings of intervention efficacy. Hospitalizations for SIRIs are a unique entry point for patients to start their recovery journey with medications for OUD (MOUD), but many people do not remain on long-term treatment, despite evidence that indicates MOUDs reduce death and re-hospitalization after SIRIs. The study objectives are to: * Assess the implementation feasibility of the adapted RMC model for patients with SIRI and OUD. * Establish preliminary estimates of intervention efficacy. * Make further adaptions to the intervention that will reduce both known and unknown barriers to care and increase effectiveness in future larger scale trials. Findings from this pilot study will result in further intervention refinement to better fit the target population, and serve as the basis for a larger randomized control trial that will have aims focused on more in-depth analysis of the efficacy of this program

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if music use affects anxiety or pain levels in parturients admitted to labor and delivery. It will also learn about the effect of music use on patient satisfaction. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does music use affect anxiety levels in parturients admitted to labor and delivery? Does music use affect pain levels in parturients admitted to labor and delivery? Does music use affect patient satisfaction in parturients admitted to labor and delivery? Researchers will compare music to a control (no music) to see if music affects anxiety levels in parturients admitted to labor and delivery. Participants will: Listen to music or listen to no music for a 10 minute duration in the labor and delivery unit. Answer questions about anxiety and pain levels at a few different timepoints. Have information collected from medical charts (vital signs and cervical dilation). Rate their satisfaction with care.

Ultrasound guidance plays a pivotal role in caudal epidural block in pediatric patients. In comparison to conventional single-plane ultrasound, biplane ultrasound offers the advantage of providing simultaneous transverse and longitudinal imaging. This project proposes to compare epidural versus spinal anesthesia in patients having liver resection surgery. The investigators hypothesize that spinal anesthesia will result in improved blood pressure control postoperatively and reduce the amount of intravenous fluids required after surgery. Spinal anesthesia is expected to provide the same pain control benefits as epidurals, with faster recovery of function. Spinal anesthesia may be a simple and effective way to improve and enhance the recovery in the increasing number of patients requiring liver resection.

The purpose of the study is to learn more about a new device, the EpiZact Epidural Device, that may be helpful for reducing the likelihood of wet tap when a labor epidural is placed. When epidurals are placed correctly the needle stops just in front of the space in the body that contains cerebrospinal fluid. When the epidural is advanced a short distance further, leakage of cerebrospinal fluid can occur. This is known as a wet tap. A wet tap can result in a severe headache and at times other complications. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the use of the EpiZact device prevents wet taps in pregnant women receiving epidurals for relief of labor pain. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. What the rate of wet tap with the EpiZact device? 2. What is the rate of failed epidural placement with the EpiZact device? All patients in the study will receive an epidural with the EpiZact device. The investigators will compare the results with patients not in the study that receive an epidural without the EpiZact device.

Combined spinal-epidural (CSE) is an established technique for providing labour analgesia to obstetric patients which provides rapid onset but unsustained analgesia. The epidural catheter can be used to extend and provide continuous pain relief, however during single-segment needle-through-needle CSE, the catheter is untested. This study aims to confirm placement of epidural catheters of anesthesia through the epidural stimulation test (EST) which was first described by the PI of the study for confirming placement of epidural catheters approximately 20 years ago.

Patients with advanced HER2+ breast cancer on maintenance trastuzumab/pertuzumab or T-DM1 with 1st or 2nd intracranial disease event (brain metastases) and stable extracranial disease will be enrolled. They will receive local therapy with stereotactic radiosurgery ± surgical resection if indicated followed by enrollment. Patients will continue standard of care trastuzumab/pertuzumab or T-DM1 with the addition of tucatinib. Hormone receptor positive patients requiring endocrine therapy should continue. Study treatment will continue until disease progression or intolerable side effects. Patients on trial with extracranial disease progression with stable intracranial disease should continue tucatinib into next line of therapy.

BDTX-1535-101 is an open-label, Phase 1 dose escalation and Phase 2 multiple cohort study designed to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), optimal dosage, central nervous system (CNS) activity, and antitumor activity of silevertinib (BDTX-1535). The study population comprises adults with either advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with non-classical or acquired epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) resistance (EGFR C797S) mutations with or without CNS disease (in Phase 1 and Phase 2), or glioblastoma (GBM) expressing EGFR alterations (Phase 1 only). PUMA-ALI-1201 is a randomized, dose optimization, multicenter, Phase 2 study of alisertib administered in combination with endocrine therapy in participants with pathology-confirmed HR-positive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer (MBC) following progression on or after at least two prior lines of endocrine therapy in the recurrent or metastatic setting. This study is to assess the efficacy and safety of olaparib monotherapy versus olaparib in combination with an inhibitor of ATR (Ataxia-Telangiectasia Mutated (ATM) and Rad3-related protein kinase (Ceralasertib \[AZD6738\]) and olaparib monotherapy versus olaparib in combination with an inhibitor of WEE1 (adavosertib \[AZD1775\]) in second or third line setting in patients with Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) prospectively stratified by presence/absence of qualifying tumour mutation in genes involved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway. Treatment arms are olaparib monotherapy, olaparib+ Ceralasertib and olaparib+adavosertib. The study subject population will be divided into Stratum A, Stratum B, and Stratum C. Due to the different schedules of administration of each of the treatment options as well as their different toxicity profiles, the study is not blinded. Study has two stage consent process- stage 1 consent (molecular screening for HRR defects) and stage 2 consent (main study). Patients with TNBC and with known qualifying BRCAm, non BRCAm HRRm and non HRRm status will be offered the option of consenting to the main part of the study within the 28-day screening period. Following the ISRC meeting on 17 April 2019 a recommendation was made to close the adavosertib+olaparib treatment arm across all biomarker strata. Patients receiving treatment with adavosertib+olaparib treatment were offered the opportunity to continue treatment on olaparib monotherapy at the approved dose (300 mg bd). Following the closure of this arm the total number of patients randomised will be lower (approximately 350 patients). Approximately 300 patients will be randomised (using randomisation ratio 1:1) to 2 ongoing treatment arms plus an additional 47 patients to a 3rd arm (olaparib+adavosertib) prior to the arm being discontinued.

How much do Epidural clinical trials pay?

Each trial will compensate patients a different amount, but $50-100 for each visit is a fairly common range for Phase 2–4 trials (Phase 1 trials often pay substantially more). Further, most trials will cover the costs of a travel to-and-from the clinic.

How do Epidural clinical trials work?

After a researcher reviews your profile, they may choose to invite you in to a screening appointment, where they'll determine if you meet 100% of the eligibility requirements. If you do, you'll be sorted into one of the treatment groups, and receive your study drug. For some trials, there is a chance you'll receive a placebo. Across Epidural trials 30% of clinical trials have a placebo. Typically, you'll be required to check-in with the clinic every month or so. The average trial length for Epidural is 12 months.

How do I participate in a study as a "healthy volunteer"?

Not all studies recruit healthy volunteers: usually, Phase 1 studies do. Participating as a healthy volunteer means you will go to a research facility several times over a few days or weeks to receive a dose of either the test treatment or a "placebo," which is a harmless substance that helps researchers compare results. You will have routine tests during these visits, and you'll be compensated for your time and travel, with the number of appointments and details varying by study.

What does the "phase" of a clinical trial mean?

The phase of a trial reveals what stage the drug is in to get approval for a specific condition. Phase 1 trials are the trials to collect safety data in humans. Phase 2 trials are those where the drug has some data showing safety in humans, but where further human data is needed on drug effectiveness. Phase 3 trials are in the final step before approval. The drug already has data showing both safety and effectiveness. As a general rule, Phase 3 trials are more promising than Phase 2, and Phase 2 trials are more promising than phase 1.

Do I need to be insured to participate in a Epidural medical study?
