How Xylocaine Viscous Affects Patients

Lidocaine is a medicine used to numb tissues and reduce pain. When taken in the right doses, it usually causes a mild drop in blood pressure. It works by blocking sodium channels, which stops electrical signals needed for muscle contraction. It also has a weak base, so 25% of the lidocaine molecules enter nerve cells quickly. The effects begin in 1 minute when given intravenously and 15 minutes when given intramuscularly. The effects last for 10-20 minutes when given intravenously and 60-90 minutes when given intramuscularly. However, lidocaine is less effective when inflammation is present.

How Xylocaine Viscous works in the body

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that blocks nerves from sending pain signals to the brain. It does this by entering nerve cells and binding to sodium ion channels, which prevents the nerves from depolarizing and sending signals. In addition to its pain-blocking effects, lidocaine also has effects on both the central nervous system and cardiovascular system.
