Vantin has been a lifesaver for me, as I am allergic to most antibiotics. That being said, it's not the strongest or fastest-working medication I've ever taken. I'm still on day 9 of my 10-day course, so I haven't seen the full effects yet.

I was prescribed this medication for a sinus infection, but after being advised that I suffer from ulcerative colitis, I began to experience bloody stools and other symptoms within 36 hours. I stopped taking the medication, but have been treating the UC flare for the last 2 weeks. If you are a UC sufferer, do not take this drug.
