Avermectins, the group that Ivermectin belongs to, are effective against many parasites and can be used to treat a range of different types of infection.
How Soolantra works in the bodyIvermectin works by targeting the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, causing them to become paralyzed and eventually die. Soolantra Toxicity & Overdose RiskWhen used as directed, topical ivermectin should not cause major toxicity. Accidental exposure to large amounts of ivermectin can cause rash, swelling, headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, difficulty walking, shallow breathing, droopy eyelids, decreased activity, vomiting, and dilated pupils. If a person has overdosed on ivermectin, medical treatment may include fluids and electrolytes, breathing support, medications to raise blood pressure, and inducing vomiting or using a stomach pump.
