Effectiveness

How Loestrin 21 1/20 Affects PatientsNorethisterone is a man-made hormone used to prevent pregnancy or treat other hormone-related issues like menopause and endometriosis. It is more potent than the body's natural progesterone and works by changing the function of the cervix and uterus, as well as blocking hormones in the brain that are involved in ovulation. Taking norethisterone may slightly increase the risk of breast cancer, so patients should be aware of this and perform regular breast self-exams.
How Loestrin 21 1/20 works in the bodyNorethisterone is a hormone that helps prevent pregnancy. It works by increasing the thickness and amount of cervical mucus, which prevents sperm from entering the uterus. It also alters the endometrium, making it difficult for an egg to attach. Norethisterone also suppresses the release of hormones that cause ovulation. In menopausal women, norethisterone is added to hormone replacement therapy to reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia, which can lead to cancer. Norethisterone has a low affinity for other hormones, but it may be linked to some side effects like acne and changes

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Abnormal Bleeding from the Uterus
I've been on this medication for several years now and have had zero issues. My period comes every 6-8 weeks and lasts around 2 1/2 days. Additionally, I barely get cramps when I do menstruate. Overall, I'm really happy with this product and don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Abnormally Long or Heavy Periods
I've been using this pill for a while now and it's really helped me regulate my periods. I don't have any bleeding in between anymore, which is wonderful. It's also great for birth control.

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Birth Control
I've been spotting and heavily bleeding for the first month, but I'm hoping my body will adjust to the medication. I've also had bad stomach aches (although this may be from poor diet choices), mood swings, and other side effects. However, I am hopeful that this medication will help shrink the endometriosis tumor on my abdominal wall in the next few months.

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Birth Control
Unfortunately, this birth control caused me a great deal of vaginal dryness after only one year. I was constantly in pain and getting infections because of how dry it made me. Once I switched to a different brand, all of my problems stopped.

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Birth Control
I've been using this medication for a little over 2 years now. I'm not perfect with taking it every day, but I haven't had any negative consequences that I can see. No weight gain or acne like some other treatments, and thankfully no unwanted pregnancies!

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Birth Control
I took this for HRT purposes and experienced weight gain; however, I would recommend taking it before bed. I was still able to get relief by halving each pill. They were a godsend while I was on them, from age 50-62.

Loestrin 21 1/20 for Disease of Ovaries with Cysts
I switched to this birth control from Yasmin and there is a significant difference. On Yasmin, I was severely depressed, but on Loestrin, I am back to normal! The reason I did not give it the total of 5 stars is because my cramps are BRUTAL on this pill, but I'll take a period from hell over depression and irregular periods any day... LOVE this pill!
