Effectiveness

How Hydrocortisone Butyrate Affects PatientsHydrocortisone is a steroid hormone that helps regulate important body functions like blood pressure, metabolism, and immunity. It is applied to the skin to reduce inflammation and itching caused by skin conditions. Glucocorticoids like hydrocortisone work by suppressing the production of cytokines, which are chemicals involved in the immune response. This reduces the expansion of B cells and T cells, resulting in fewer activated T lymphocyte cells.
How Hydrocortisone Butyrate works in the bodyHydrocortisone works by binding to receptors in the cell nucleus and increasing the expression of certain genes. It also prevents chemical compounds called eicosanoids from being produced. These compounds are involved in inflammation, and when they are prevented from forming, inflammation decreases. Hydrocortisone also suppresses the immune system by reducing the function of the lymphatic system, lowering immunoglobulin and complement concentrations, and reducing lymphocytes. This helps prevent the body from overreacting to allergens and other sources of inflammation.

Hydrocortisone Butyrate for Skin Condition
This helps when my nose and ears turn red from an autoimmune skin condition, but the effect only lasts for about two weeks. I need to use it once every four weeks or so to prevent a bright red nose. Not sure how long my nose can take this kind of treatment, but we'll see.
