What is Femtrace

Estradiol acetateThe Generic name of this drug
Treatment SummaryEstradiol acetate is a form of the naturally occurring hormone estrogen. It is often used to treat menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood changes, irregular menstrual cycles, chills, and sleeping problems. It does this by binding to special receptors in the body that act as a sort of switch for estrogenic effects. It is available in a vaginal ring called Femring, which is used to help absorb the drug and provide a sustained release of estrogen into the body.

Effectiveness

How Femtrace Affects PatientsEstrogen works in the body by activating Estrogen Receptor (ER) located in various organs and tissues, such as the breasts, uterus, ovaries, skin, prostate, bone, fat, and brain. Estradiol activates both types of ER: the Alpha (ERα) and the Beta (ERβ) receptors. It is also a strong activator of G Protein-coupled Estrogen Receptor (GPER), which helps to quickly cause changes in cells.
How Femtrace works in the bodyEstradiol, a hormone found in the female body, works by entering cells in organs like the female reproductive system, breasts, and brain. It then binds to a receptor in the cell's nucleus, which activates certain genes and causes the production of proteins. These proteins are responsible for the effects of Estradiol, such as increasing the amount of certain proteins in the blood and reducing the amount of follicle-stimulating hormone from the pituitary gland. Finally, these changes reverse some of the symptoms of menopause.

Femtrace for "Change of Life" Signs
After trying unsuccessfully to manage my menopause symptoms with natural supplements for over a year and a half, my doctor prescribed Femtrace. This medication has been an absolute godsend--I haven't had a hot flash in years and I sleep like a baby now.
