How Eryc Affects Patients
Erythromycin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria by blocking protein and translation. It is important to first test the bacteria to ensure that it is susceptible to erythromycin, as some strains may be resistant. Along with this, there are several side effects associated with erythromycin, such as pseudomembranous colitis, which is an inflammation of the large intestine, and hepatotoxicity, which is a form of liver damage. Combining erythromycin with certain other drugs may be more effective in treating certain bacterial strains.
How Eryc works in the body
Erythromycin is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from replicating. It does this by binding to the ribosomal RNA molecule in bacterial cells, which is responsible for making proteins. By preventing protein synthesis, erythromycin can stop bacteria from growing and spreading, controlling a wide range of bacterial infections.
