How Clobex Affects Patients
Corticosteroids attach to the hormone receptor that controls inflammation, reducing inflammation and increasing anti-inflammatory signals. Clobetasol propionate is usually applied twice per day, and its effects last for an extended period. The recommended dose for this drug is often higher than what the body naturally produces. It is important to note that taking corticosteroids can suppress the hormone system that controls stress and increase a person's risk of getting infections.
How Clobex works in the body
Corticosteroids reduce swelling caused by inflammation. This is done by changing the way some genes work and by stopping certain chemicals from forming. Corticosteroids also prevent white blood cells from going to the site of inflamation. Lower doses of corticosteroids can reduce inflamation, while higher doses weaken your immune system. Prolonged use of high doses can also increase the amount of sodium in your body and decrease the amount of potassium.
When to interrupt dosage
The proposed dosage of Clobex is contingent upon the determined affliction, including Psoriasis, corticosteroid responsive, Inflammatory Dermatosis and Pruritus. The measure of dosage is subject to the technique of delivery (e.g. Topical or Ointment) stated in the table below.

Clobex Toxicity & Overdose Risk
Taking too much of a glucocorticoid, such as clobetasol propionate, can lead to decreased activity of the adrenal glands and an inability to respond to stress. Long-term use of high doses of glucocorticoids can cause or worsen eye problems, high blood pressure, fluid retention, high cholesterol, ulcers, inflammation of the pancreas, muscle weakness, mental changes, skin irritation, allergies, acne, increased hair growth, weakened immune system, diabetes, calcium deficiency, phosphorus deficiency, and acidosis. Treatment for an overdose of glucocorticoids may involve adjusting the dose
