The VITamin D and OmegA-3 TriaL (VITAL; NCT 01169259) is a randomized clinical trial in 25,871 U.S. men and women investigating whether taking daily dietary supplements of vitamin D3 (2000 IU) or fish oil (1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids) reduces the risk of developing cancer, heart disease, and stroke in people who do not have a prior history of these illnesses. This ancillary study is being conducted among a sub-cohort of 771 participants in VITAL and will test the efficacy and safety of high-dose vitamin D supplementation vs. placebo on skeletal health and body composition.

The aim of the ROCQ programme is to improve the use of evidence based osteoporosis diagnostic and treatment strategies for women 50 years and over who have suffered a fragility fracture. AGN1 LOEP for Preventing Secondary Hip Fractures

A randomized controlled trial to evaluate AGN1 to prevent secondary hip fractures in osteoporotic women undergoing treatment of index hip fractures. Up to 2400 subjects will be randomized between a treatment group and a control group. Subjects will be followed for a minimum of 5 years after undergoing hip fracture repair surgery.

This study will evaluate pediatric patients with malignant or non-malignant blood cell disorders who are having a blood stem cell transplant depleted of T cell receptor (TCR) alfa and beta cells that comes from a partially matched family donor. The study will assess whether immune cells, called T cells, from the family donor, that are specially grown in the laboratory and given back to the patient along with the stem cell transplant can help the immune system recover faster after transplant.
