The overall purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of an intervention designed to prevent nurse suicide. This randomized controlled trial will test the modified Interactive Screening Program (mISP) alone and the mISP combined with a program called MINDBODYSTRONG. The mISP is a method of screening to detect clinicians at moderate to high risk for suicide and referring them for treatment through an encrypted anonymous on-line platform. MINDBODYSTRONG© is an adaptation of a well-tested cognitive-behavioral skills building intervention (also known as COPE in the literature) that provides a cognitive-behavior theory-based approach to decrease depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation and improve healthy lifestyle beliefs and behaviors in at-risk populations. MINDBODYSTRONG© will involve eight self-paced computerized sessions designed specifically for nurses and clinicians. Nurses will be recruited nationally through the professional nursing organizations and health systems.

The purpose of this project is to develop a monitoring, modeling, and interactive recommendation solution (for caregivers) for in-home dementia patient care that focuses on caregiver-patient relationships. This includes monitoring for mood and stress and analyzing the significance of monitoring those attributes to dementia patient care and subsequent behavior dynamics between the patient and caregiver. In addition, novel and adaptive behavioral suggestions at the right moments aims at helping improve familial interactions related to caregiving, which over time should ameliorate the stressful effects of the patient's illness and reduce strain on caregivers. The technical solution consists of a core set of statistical learning based techniques for automated generation of specialized modules required by in-home dementia patient care. There are three main technical components in the solution. The first obtains textual content and prosody from voice and uses advanced machine learning techniques to create classification models. This approach not only monitors patients' behavior, but also caregivers', and infers the underlying dynamics of their interactions, such as changes in mood and stress. The second is the automated creation of classifiers and inference modules tailored to the particular patients and dementia conditions (such as different stages of dementia). The third is an adaptive recommendation system that closes the loop of an in-home behavior monitoring system.

Mindfulness in Motion (MIM) is an eight-week evidenced based program designed specifically to help participants learn practical stress reduction, burnout and resiliency building techniques. Content includes didactic instruction, community-building group discussion, mindfulness practices, and gentle yoga. Weekly themes include Willingness to Daily Practice, Mindful Sleep, Vision of Self, Supported by the Breath, Mindful Eating and Yoga, Movement Through Balance, Awareness of Sensation, Clarity and Release, and Staying Grounded and Moving Forward. An Ohio State University endorsed, ADA compliant companion smartphone app reinforces weekly content and offers a variety of individual mind-body and mediations practices. The evidence-based MIM content has been tailored to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of student Dance majors at The Ohio State University and integrated into the Dance 2802 course content as Mind-Body Conditioning for second year students. Over the course of the second year student's fall semester, this study will evaluate the effectiveness of this integrated course content on students' perceived stress, burnout, resilience, musculoskeletal injury and discomfort, and weekly respiratory rates. After the semester long course is completed, the students will also assess how well the Mind-Body Conditioning course content was integrated into the required first year seminar for University Dance majors.

This study will examine the impact of training primary care providers (PCPs) in motivational interviewing (MI) using artificial intelligence (AI) to augment the training process. MI is a patient-centered approach to engaging patients in their own care. There will be a control group and two intervention groups, with the intervention groups receiving a different amount of MI training. The hypothesis is that the AI-augmented MI training will result in improved patient outcomes, improved clinician wellbeing, and reduced behavioral manifestation of clinician biases. This mixed-methods project will also collect qualitative data from structured interviews and focus groups with participating PCPs to examine perceived facilitators and barriers to the use of the MI approach in primary care.

This clinical trial will evaluate the effectivness of an Eastern Principles Acceptance and Commitment Therapy intervention (EPACT) relative to an estabished traditional Western-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy intervention (ACT) and a no treatment control group. The participants for the study will be nurses and nursing aides (NNAs) who work in long-term care settings in the USA and Thailand. The primary dependent variables are work-related injuries, work stress and burnout, wellbeing, musculoskeletal symptoms, time off from work due to injury. High frequency heart rate variability will also be investigated as a predictor of responsiveness to the interventions. The study has three primary aims: 1. To compare the EPACT NNA intervention to an established traditional Western ACT NNA intervention and a no-treatment control group. 2. To identify predictors of ACT NNA and EPACT NNA responsiveness to the interventions and injury likelihood across time. 3. To assess EPACT NNA's feasibility and effectiveness across cultures. USA participants working in Ohio will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: EPACT NNA (n = 80), ACT NNA (n = 80), or a no treatment control group (n = 80). All participants will participate in an assessment session where study questnnaires are completed and a baseline high frequency HRV measurement is collected. Subsequent to the assessment, the EPACT NNA and ACT NNA participants will attend two 2.5 hour sessions spaced one week apart. The control group will have no further in-person meetings with the researchers. One-month after completing the intervention (4 weeks after the baseline assessment) a follow-up survey will be sent to participants for the first follow-up. Three months after baseline, the second follow-up survey will be sent to participants. The surveys assess demographic characteristics, organizational variables, work-related injuries, work stress, and well-being. A second RCT study will be conducted in Thailand comparing EPACT NNA (n = 40) to a no-treatment control group (n = 40) among nurses and nursing aides working in healthcare settings. The same outcome measures and procedures will be used. This research aims to develop a culturally-informed, evidence-based intervention that integrates both Western and Eastern mindfulness principles to address the high rates of work-related injuries among NNAs.

This study is being conducted to describe the impact of a meeting between patients that were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and a provider that cared for the patients during the period of critical illness. The study team is aiming to describe the effect this meeting has on the physician that previously cared for the patient. The purpose of this study is to test an intervention focused towards promoting mindfulness among VA physicians and nurses. Mindfulness is a tool that can help people focus. It helps clear the mind of distractions and biases. Some physicians and nurses will be randomized to receive the study intervention, while others will not. The study intervention will include the following: 1) education about mindfulness; 2) group discussions about mindfulness; and 3) an optional mobile app to promote mindfulness. Participants randomized to the intervention will be encouraged to use the act of cleansing their hands as a prompt for practicing mindfulness. The study will test if this intervention will increase physician and nurse mindfulness. It will also test if it leads to improved well-being and use of proper hand hygiene.

Due to a number of factors, residents are susceptible to mistreatment (i.e., discrimination, harassment, and abuse) and toxic outcomes (i.e., burnout, attrition, and suicidality). Our work following the FIRST Trial identified considerable variation in program-level rates of resident-reported burnout, gender discrimination, racial discrimination, sexual harassment, and verbal abuse. The goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a mind-body medicine training program on parole services staff. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Will participation in the training increase resilience; empathy; the belief that one can cope with difficult situations; and decrease symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, and burnout? * What is the personal and professional impact of the training program? Sixty staff members of the Indiana Department of Correction Parole Services Division will do the following: * Attend an initial 4-day mind-body medicine training. Mind-body techniques taught in the training include: meditation; a breathing exercise; biofeedback; guided imagery; expressing oneself through drawings and writing; movement to reduce stress; and family trees to explore family dynamics. * Attend a 2-day practicum. The 2-day practicum will teach staff the ways in which they can share the skills they have learned one-on-one with parolees and families of parolees. * Attend 4 biweekly sessions of 2-hour group consultation sessions. The consultations will support the use of the mind-body skills with the parolees. Participants will also do the following: * Fill out standardized questionnaires online before and after the training program in order to measure changes in resilience; empathy; the belief that one can cope with difficult situations; and symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, and burnout. * Fill out an additional online questionnaire three months after the consultation sessions to determine how trainees are using the mind-body skills in their work. * Participate in an online group interview to determine how trainees are using the skills and how the training has affected them personally and professionally.

The goal of this randomized trial is to test the effectiveness of two universal classroom-based mindfulness social and emotional learning (SEL) programs (one for students and one for teachers) by examining behavioral outcomes on 5th and 6th grade students and their teachers. The main questions it aims to answer are: * What are the singular and combined effects of a mindfulness-based SEL education programs for teachers and their students on the development of students' and their teachers' social, emotional, and cognitive competence, and well-being? * Can mindfulness-based SEL education programs for students and teachers foster the creation of caring, inclusive, equitable, and collaborative classroom contexts? * Can mindfulness-based SEL education programs support the development of students' and teachers' prosocial attitudes, mindsets that positively impact student learning? * Are the effects durable beyond the end of the programs with regard to the singular and combined mindfulness-based SEL interventions? A total of 24 classrooms will be randomized into one of three study conditions: 1. Mindfulness SEL program for Educators only 2. Mindfulness SEL program for Educators and Mindfulness SEL program for Students in combination, and 3. "Business as usual" (comparison groups in which regular classroom SEL curricula is implemented). Data will be obtained via multiple objective and subjective methods (e.g., self- and teacher-reports, peer behavioral assessments) from different sources (e.g., self-, peer-, and teacher-reports). Data will also be collected to monitor implementation of the two programs. To explore the ways in which these two programs impact student, teacher, and classroom outcomes, data will be analyzed to compare students and teachers in the three conditions. In Phase One (year one), the investigators will conduct an experimental "outcome" study to examine the singular and combined effects of the two programs by comparing pre-test and post-test measures across the three conditions. In Phase Two (year two), the investigators will conduct a six-month follow up with those teachers and students who participated in Phase One in order to determine the degree to which the program effects are durable after the program has ended.

The goal of this study is to determine whether mastery learning in communication skills can improve skills in a simulated environment and have translational improvements in outcomes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does mastery learning improve skills in the simulation laboratory? 2. Does mastery learning improve clinical skills as seen by milestone performance? and 3 Does mastery learning improve burnout levels? Lavender Aromatherapy for Anxiety

Chemodenervation of the bladder with onabotulinum toxin A is an effective treatment option for patients with refractory urgency urinary incontinence (UUI). It is often performed as an office-based procedure under local anesthesia. Alternatively, it can be performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. The ability to receive intra-detrusor chemodenervation in the office allows patients to avoid the risks associated with general anesthesia and is significantly more cost effective. The procedure, however, is painful and can be anxiety provoking for patients; especially given that patients typically return every six to nine months for repeat injections. Relaxation and distraction techniques are one way to ease patients' anxiety before an office-based procedure. While we do not know exactly how anxiety provoking office bladder chemodenervation is for patients, we do know that anxiety disorders are highly prevalent in women with overactive bladder as a population. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether women with Urge urinary incontinence (UUI) who receive office intra-detrusor chemodenervation injections performed in a relaxing environment of lavender aromatherapy, calming music, dim lighting, and modest positioning (Relaxing Environment Package) will have decreased anxiety and pain as well as increased post-procedure satisfaction compared to patients who receive chemodenervation in a typical office environment. Also investigate whether exposure to the relaxing environment impacts the well-being of staff involved in these procedures. This study design is a randomized control trial. Women scheduled for office intra-detrusor chemodenervation at Atrium Health women's Care Urogynecology \& Pelvic Surgery - Mercy clinic will be invited to participate. Participants will be randomized to the relaxing environment package or the placebo group after informed consent is obtained and immediately before undergoing intra-detrusor chemodenervation. The participants will complete the pre-procedure visual analog scale (VAS) for anxiety and a VAS for pain at baseline.

The goal of this clinical trial is to test how well resource navigators help long-term care and retirement home staff access the various health and wellness resources available to them and the effects that this has on their health and wellness overall. The main questions it aims to answer are: - How does one-on-one support from a resource navigator affect the wellness of long-term care and retirement home staff, including burnout, vaccination status, and COVID-19 infection? Researchers will compare participants in the intervention group (where participants are paired with a resource navigator) and the control group (where participants are not paired with a resource navigator) to see the impact access to a resource navigator has on wellness (primary outcome), burnout, knowledge of, access to and use of wellness resources, knowledge/alignment with provincial public health guidelines related to SARS-CoV-2 vaccine outcomes, SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospitalization, and death (secondary outcomes). Hypothesis: Researchers anticipate that those in the intervention group (have access to a resource navigator) will report a higher positive change in wellness between baseline and 6 months.

Hospital-based peer support programs can improve HCW well-being, but there are few programs and little data for settings outside of hospitals. The program would adapt, implement, and evaluate an evidence-informed peer support program (RISE) in ambulatory practices, rural hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and community based organizations (CBOs). The hypothesis is that the availability of peer support will improve the culture of well-being, and the resilience and well-being of HCW in participating organizations. Digital Support for Caregivers

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the feasibility, accessibility, and potential clinical benefits of implementing a moderated online social media platform with therapeutic content, Altitudes, to parents, caregivers, and supporters of young people with psychosis across the state of North Carolina, including in Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) programs, Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP) programs, and other community services where caregivers or supporters of young persons experiencing psychosis receive care. The investigators will evaluate acceptability and feasibility with up to 50 caregivers and supporters over the course of 6 months. Acceptability and usability will be assessed with various acceptability measures with the Altitudes caregivers and supporters, and caregivers and supporters' engagement with the digital platform. The investigators will additionally evaluate the impact of the platform on caregiver and supporter's psychological status, well-being, and social support, as measured via self-report questionnaires.
