P2P Trial Summary

This trial will develop and test a PrEP activation, navigation and support intervention for young men who have sex with men (YMSM); this population not only has the highest annual incidence of HIV, but also is the least likely to have ever used PrEP.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for young men who have sex with men, and young transgender and non-binary individuals aged 16-26 in the Los Angeles area. They must be HIV negative, not on PrEP or enrolled in another HIV prevention study, identify as a specific race/ethnicity, and have access to an iOS/Android smartphone or tablet.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The trial tests 'PrEPresent,' a mobile health platform designed to facilitate access to PrEP for HIV prevention. It includes features like scheduling with navigators and goal setting. Participants will also complete assessments and sessions addressing barriers to accessing PrEP.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves using a mobile health platform rather than medication, traditional side effects are not applicable. However, participants may experience stress or anxiety related to discussing personal health issues.
