Effectiveness

How Temovate Affects PatientsCorticosteroids work by blocking certain signals in the body that cause inflammation. Clobetasol propionate is usually used twice a day and can last for a long time. Corticosteroids can be taken in higher doses than the body naturally produces, so it has a wide safety range. However, patients should be aware that taking corticosteroids may reduce their body's ability to fight infections and suppress hormones.
How Temovate works in the bodyCorticosteroids help reduce inflammation by decreasing blood vessel expansion and preventing white blood cells from travelling to sites of inflammation. They also change the way certain genes are expressed, stopping some proteins from increasing inflammation and promoting proteins that reduce inflammation. Low doses of corticosteroids can reduce inflammation, while high doses weaken the immune system. When taken for an extended period, high doses of glucocorticoids bind to a different type of receptor, which increases sodium levels and decreases potassium levels.

When to interrupt dosage

The advised dose of Temovate is dependent upon the recognized condition, for example Psoriasis, corticosteroid responsive, Inflammatory Dermatosis and Pruritus. The amount of dosage fluctuates, as per the method of delivery (e.g. Topical or Ointment) showcased in the table beneath.
