How Tagitol V Affects Patients
Barium sulfate helps X-rays show up more clearly on images of the body. This makes it easier to see any abnormalities or differences in the body's normal structure.
How Tagitol V works in the body
Barium sulfate is a heavy metal used in x-rays. It's not absorbed by the body and is used to fill the inside of the gastrointestinal tract or coat its surface. Barium sulfate helps clearly show the shape and size of the gastrointestinal tract, and can help spot any abnormalities like tumors, ulcers, or inflammation. It can also be used in CT scans of the abdomen to help differentiate between different organs. To further enhance the visibility of the gastrointestinal tract, gas or osmotically active agents like sorbitol can be used in combination with the barium. This is known as a double-contrast procedure
When to interrupt dosage

Description
Tagitol V Toxicity & Overdose Risk
Acute exposure to barium sulfate may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, eye and respiratory irritation. In more serious cases, it can lead to an allergic reaction, difficulty with digestion, breathing problems, or even death. Repeated exposure can lead to a lung condition called baritosis (benign pneumoconiosis). Leakage of barium sulfate into the abdomen is possible and can cause obstruction or impaction if not enough fluid is consumed afterwards. Rarely, perforation of the bowel can happen due to an enema tip or balloon used during treatment. No animal studies have been
