How Phrenilin Affects PatientsAcetaminophen is a pain and fever reliever that has been proven to work in both animals and humans. Unlike other drugs in its class, acetaminophen does not increase the amount of uric acid in the body or disturb the body's acid-base balance when taken at the recommended dosage. It also does not have any effect on blood clotting or platelet aggregation. Rarely, people may experience an allergic reaction to acetaminophen.
How Phrenilin works in the bodyAcetaminophen works to reduce pain, but the exact mechanism is unknown. It is believed to block two types of cyclooxygenase, which are enzymes responsible for producing prostaglandins which cause pain. It does not seem to block these enzymes in peripheral tissues, so it does not have anti-inflammatory effects. Acetaminophen may also block a different type of cyclooxygenase, called COX-3. Its antipyretic actions are thought to be due to direct action on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in increased sweating and reduced body heat.

Phrenilin Toxicity & Overdose RiskThe toxic dose of acetaminophen in mice is 338mg/kg and 1944mg/kg in rats. Overdoses may cause kidney or liver damage, low blood sugar, and a decrease in blood cells. Long-term studies have shown an increased risk of leukemia in female rats, but no similar risk has been found in humans. Acetaminophen has not been found to cause mutations in bacteria, but it has been found to be clastogenic or disrupt chromosomes at very high doses. There have been no studies on its effects on fertility, but it is considered a category C drug in pregnancy and can be found in small amounts
