How Penetrex Affects PatientsCapsaicin is a substance that activates certain nerve receptors in the body. When these receptors are activated, it can cause a tingling, stinging, burning, itching, or warming sensation. This activation also causes the body to become less sensitive to other sensations, a process known as "defunctionalization". Capsaicin can also cause changes in enzyme, cell structure, and osmotic pressure as well as disrupt the body's breathing process, which can affect the way the body senses pain.
How Penetrex works in the bodyCapsaicin is thought to work by reducing the amount of inflammation-causing substance P. Its main mechanism, however, is believed to be "defunctionalizing" the nerve fibers in the skin, which causes a temporary hypersensitivity reaction. This reaction can lead to a loss of membrane potential, the inability to transport helpful factors, and a retraction of nerve fibers in the epidermis and dermis.

When to interrupt dosage

The recommended measure of Penetrex relies upon the determined condition, including Musculoskeletal Pain, Rheumatic Pain and Soft Tissue Injury. The magnitude of dosage is contingent upon the method of administration (e.g. Topical or Cream - Topical) indicated in the table below.
