How Lampit Affects Patients

Nifurtimox is a medication used to treat Chagas disease, which is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. It works by reducing the activity of certain enzymes in the parasite. Studies have also shown that nifurtimox can decrease the amount of antibodies in the body that are caused by the parasite, and can lead to at least a 20% decrease in antibody levels.

How Lampit works in the body

Nifurtimox works to fight the parasite that causes the Chagas disease. We don't know exactly how it works, but it appears to turn on enzymes that create reactive molecules that attack the parasite. It also seems to stop the parasite from making energy, and stops it from entering and leaving cells.
