How Cipro Xr Affects PatientsCiprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to fight off a variety of bacteria and other microorganisms. It works by preventing bacteria from creating new DNA, making it difficult for them to reproduce and survive. It is different than other antibiotics, so it can be used when other medications no longer work. Ciprofloxacin and similar drugs are also being studied to see if they can be used to treat malaria, cancers, and AIDS.
How Cipro Xr works in the bodyCiprofloxacin stops bacteria from reproducing by targeting enzymes responsible for twisting and replicating DNA. It does this by blocking the alpha subunits of the enzymes that are responsible for this process, so that the DNA can't be twisted and replicated correctly.
When to interrupt dosage
The amount of Cipro Xr is contingent on the diagnosed condition, like Proteus mirabilis, Conjunctivitis and Cystitis. The dosage fluctuates as per the technique of delivery (e.g. Kit; Powder, for suspension - Oral or Kit; Suspension) detailed in the table beneath.Condition
