How Cefzil Affects PatientsCefprozil is a type of medication used to treat ear infections, soft tissue infections, and respiratory infections. It belongs to a class of drugs called cephalosporins.
How Cefzil works in the bodyCefprozil is an antibiotic that works like penicillin. It binds to proteins inside bacteria, which stops them from making more of their cell walls. This causes the bacteria to break apart, and eventually die. Cefprozil may also prevent bacteria from using enzymes that help them survive.
