Effectiveness
How Exforge Hct Affects Patients
Amlodipine affects cell membranes, blocking calcium from getting into the cells. This helps lower blood pressure when taken regularly. It does not change heart rate or the levels of certain chemicals in the blood. Acute use of amlodipine can increase heart rate in those with angina and normal blood pressure, but long-term use does not have this effect. Amlodipine also improves chest pain associated with angina by increasing exercise time and decreasing the number of angina attacks.
How Exforge Hct works in the body
Amlodipine works to lower blood pressure and relieve the symptoms of angina. It does this by blocking the movement of calcium ions into the cells of the heart and the blood vessels, which reduces the contraction of the heart and restricts the vessels. This decreases the amount of work the heart needs to do and lowers the total resistance against which it works. Amlodipine also widens the main coronary arteries and arterioles, increasing the oxygen delivery to the heart and reducing the vasoconstriction caused by smoking.
When to interrupt dosage
The measure of Exforge Hct is dependent upon the diagnosed condition, including inadequate reaction to diet, High Cardiovascular Risk and Lifestyle Modification. The quantity of dosage is contingent upon the method of delivery (e.g. Tablet, film coated or Tablet) featured in the table beneath.

Exforge Hct Toxicity & Overdose Risk
The highest amount of amlodipine that is toxic to mice is 37mg/kg. An overdose of amlodipine can cause excessive dilation of the blood vessels, and serious and potentially deadly drops in blood pressure. There is no evidence that amlodipine causes cancer, gene or chromosome mutations, or affects fertility. Amlodipine has not been proven to be safe for pregnant or nursing women and should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. Nursing mothers should stop nursing while taking amlodipine.
