On-Demand vs In-Person Relationship Education for Couples
What You Need to Know Before You Apply
What is the purpose of this trial?
This trial aims to determine whether the TYRO Couples curriculum is more effective when taught in person or available on-demand. The curriculum is designed to help couples improve their relationships. Participants in this trial are individuals currently incarcerated in Ohio and within 9 months of their release date. By comparing the two teaching methods, the trial seeks to identify which format is more effective and flexible for various life situations. As an unphased trial, it offers participants the chance to contribute to valuable research that could enhance relationship support for others in similar circumstances.
Will I have to stop taking my current medications?
The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications.
What prior data suggests that the TYRO Couples curriculum is safe for participants?
Research has shown that the TYRO Couples program, available online or in person, is generally safe for participants. Studies on similar online relationship programs indicate they are well-received, with no major negative effects reported. This suggests the program can be safely used by those seeking to improve their relationships.12345
Why are researchers excited about this trial?
Researchers are excited about this trial because it explores two distinct formats of delivering relationship education through the TYRO Couples curriculum. The on-demand format allows couples to access the curriculum at their own pace, making it a flexible option that fits into busy schedules. On the other hand, the virtual or in-person format offers live interaction, which can enhance engagement and provide real-time support. By comparing these two methods, researchers hope to determine which approach is more effective in strengthening relationships, offering valuable insights into how couples can best benefit from educational interventions.
What evidence suggests that the TYRO Couples curriculum is effective for relationship education?
Research has shown that the TYRO Couples program can enhance relationship satisfaction. Couples who participated reported significantly increased satisfaction. One study focused on communication and relationship happiness, demonstrating these improvements. The program aims to help partners communicate and understand each other better, making it particularly effective for couples adjusting after one partner's incarceration. In this trial, participants will receive the program in either an on-demand format or a live format (virtual or in-person) to deliver these benefits.13467
