Effectiveness

How Sonata Affects PatientsZaleplon is a drug used to treat short-term insomnia. It is not related to benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or other drugs with similar effects. It works by interacting with two different receptors in the brain: the GABABZ receptor, which is responsible for sedative, anxiety-reducing, muscle relaxing, and anticonvulsant effects; and the GABAA receptor, which helps with sleep.
How Sonata works in the bodyZaleplon works by affecting the GABABZ receptor chloride channel macromolecular complex. It also binds to a special receptor in the brain, called the omega-1 receptor, which is part of the GABA-A/chloride ion channel receptor complex. This binding helps it to increase the effects of TBPS, a type of chemical.

Sonata for Chronic Trouble Sleeping
Sonata has been a great switch for me from Ambien CR. I'd been taking the latter for eight years, and while it took a couple of nights to get used to Sonata, the quality of sleep is now much better. There's also no morning grogginess which is amazing.

Sonata for Difficulty Falling Asleep
Sonata was an amazing insomnia medication. I never felt groggy or hungover the next morning, which has been a problem with other sleep aids I've taken.

Sonata for Difficulty Falling Asleep
I had great success with the generic version made by Teva (10 mg, light and dark green capsule). However, when my pharmacy switched to a different manufacturer (navy capsule), I found this new version to be terrible. It's like the company uses caffeine as a filler! I can't take it because it makes me feel wired and I get NO SLEEP. I have gone through withdrawal because I was told that neither the brand name Sonata nor the Teva product is available.

Sonata for Difficulty Falling Asleep
Zolpidem is the only thing that has helped me sleep through the night since I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. However, you need two 10mg pills to get any sort of effect and you're limited to 30 per month. Bigelow Sweet Dreams tea also helps a bit, but you'll have to get up during the night to use the restroom.

Sonata for Difficulty Falling Asleep
Sonata has been an absolute game-changer for me. I was struggling with anxiety and chronic insomnia, often not falling asleep until 4 or 5 a.m., which made it really tough to get up for work in the morning. Over-the-counter medications did nothing for me, and my doctor first prescribed Ambien, but that also seemed to have no effect. Sonata has helped me fall asleep within 30 minutes, and I can't believe what a difference it has made in my life!
