Study Summary

This trial is testing whether dry needling (DN) at the site of a myofascial trigger point (MTrP) or in the same muscle, but away from the MTrP, can help with ankle and/or hindfoot injuries.

Does my profile match the requirements to join this experiment?

"This particular clinical trial is enrolling 75 individuals aged between 18 and 60 who have experienced a lower extremity injury in the last year. Furthermore, patients must report pain of more than 3 on the numerical pain rating scale or demonstrate limited dorsiflexion range of motion with greater than 2 cm side-to-side difference when evaluated using the ankle lunge test, or show greater than 3.5% side-to-side discrepancy as assessed by Y balance testing."

How many participants are being enrolled in this research endeavor?

"Indeed, clinicaltrials.gov indicates that this study is actively recruiting participants. It was initially posted on October 1st 2020 and last revised on March 12th 2022 with the aim of enrolling 75 people from a single facility."

Does the research protocol encompass participants aged eighty or older?

"Patients eligible to participate in this trial must be between 18 and 60 years old. In contrast, there are a total of 122 studies that accept participants under 18 while 590 trials cater to seniors 65+."
