Study Summary
This trial is testing whether a new assessment tool, the LuxIQ/2, is better than the current standard (the OttLite Cobra) at determining which combination of colored filters and illumination intensity is best for patients with low vision.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults over 18 with low vision who struggle with reading tasks and are interested in trying colored filters in reading glasses. They should have had a low vision evaluation and want to improve their reading comfort. People with severe dry eye syndrome, those needing electronic magnification or non-visual aids, or anyone scoring less than 21 on the TICS-M cognitive test cannot participate.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if using tinted filters and specific lighting improves reading comfort for people with low vision. Participants will compare preferences between LuxIQ/2 determined lighting/filter settings versus OttLite Cobra lighting in both clinical and home environments.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
There are no direct side effects from participating in this trial as it involves non-invasive interventions like testing different colored filters and light settings during reading activities.
