ATX Trial Summary

This trial will study if there is a difference in Achilles tendon recovery between males and females with tendinopathy who receive exercise treatment.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for men and women who have been diagnosed with midportion Achilles tendinopathy, which is a condition causing pain in the Achilles tendon. People can't join if they've had an Achilles tendon rupture or if their condition is only insertional Achilles tendinopathy or bursitis.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study aims to see if exercise treatment helps recovery of tendon structure and function differently in males versus females with Achilles tendinopathy. It will use various measures to assess changes in the tendon and muscle-tendon function.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves exercise as treatment, potential side effects may include temporary increases in tendon pain, muscle soreness, or risk of overuse injuries during the rehabilitation process.
