INS Trial Summary

This trial will study the effects of chiropractic adjustments on brain & heart patterns in 30 people. Half will get an adjustment, the other half a sham, then each will have EEG & ECG recordings.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for people aged 18-50 who haven't had any chiropractic adjustments or similar therapies in the last two weeks. They must be able to wear an EEG net for an hour, sit quietly for 20 minutes, and kneel on a massage chair. Pregnant individuals, those with recent head injuries or serious mental disorders, and anyone on certain psychotropic meds are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares the effects of real chiropractic adjustments versus sham (fake) treatments on brain and heart activity. Participants will either receive targeted cervical spine adjustments or sham touches with no actual adjustment. Their brain waves and heart patterns are recorded before and after the intervention.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves either a chiropractic adjustment or a sham procedure without real treatment, there aren't typical medication side effects involved. However, some participants might experience discomfort from lying still during EEG/ECG recording sessions.
