This trial will study how repeatedly pairs brain and hand stimulation affects the brain's plasticity and a person's ability to perform daily tasks after suffering a stroke.

- You have trouble feeling touch and knowing where your body parts are, which may make it hard for you to tell if you are experiencing too much tingling from hand stimulation.You have metal implants in your head or neck that could interfere with the treatment.You have trouble with memory or thinking that might make it hard to follow the study instructions.I am between 18 and 80 years old.I have weakness on one side of my body due to a stroke.I struggle to stay still or alert during an MRI.You weigh more than 300 pounds because the MRI machine cannot accommodate larger body sizes.You are not expected to live for the entire duration of the study.I have severe stiffness in my wrist and fingers that makes it hard to open my hand.I am an adult seeking treatment for stroke.I have a psychiatric condition or take medication that could affect the study.I experience severe pain in my arm, rated 5 or more, which could hinder my study participation.You have trouble speaking and understanding simple instructions.I have never had seizures or epilepsy.I had a stroke more than six months ago.You are receiving other treatments that could affect the study results.I have a condition like arthritis in my hand that limits movement.I have trouble noticing my affected hand.I can grasp objects with my hand.The ability to produce a response in the Extensor digitorum communis (EDC) muscle when stimulated.I have a neurological condition that is not a stroke.You have a history of specific mental health conditions like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or you are currently experiencing moderate to severe depression.
- Group 1: Combined non-invasive brain and Functional Electrical Stimulation
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
