Study Summary

This trial will study how repeatedly pairs brain and hand stimulation affects the brain's plasticity and a person's ability to perform daily tasks after suffering a stroke.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 18-80 who've had a stroke at least six months ago, resulting in moderate-to-severe hand weakness but can still grasp. They must be able to follow instructions and have no severe spasticity, seizures, concurrent therapies that could affect results, or metal implants that interfere with MRI scans.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests how brain and hand stimulation together might help improve hand movement after a stroke. It looks at changes in the brain's plasticity and motor performance by synchronizing non-invasive brain stimulation with electrical stimulation of the hand.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects may include discomfort from the electrical stimulation on the hand, headache or scalp discomfort from brain stimulation, tingling sensations due to nerve excitation, and risks typically associated with MRI procedures.
