STRONG Trial Summary

This trial will test whether a free, easy to use, web-based upper extremity stroke rehab program can improve motor function and motivation compared to written exercises.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals over 30 who have had a stroke, are discharged from outpatient rehab, and struggle with arm function but can move their hand forward at least 3 inches. They must have internet access, be able to follow web-based instructions, and provide informed consent. Those with severe cognitive issues or other health conditions that could affect safety aren't eligible.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares two home exercise programs for stroke survivors: a standard one versus an interactive web-based program designed to improve arm function. Participants will use the assigned program for six weeks and will be evaluated on motor function and motivation both immediately after and at a 12-week follow-up.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive home therapy programs focused on exercise, there are no direct medical side effects like you'd expect from medication. However, participants may experience fatigue or muscle soreness typical of physical therapy.
