PIVOT-1 Trial Summary

This trial will study whether it's feasible to use a different protocol for mechanical ventilation in the medical intensive care unit. The new protocol would be called "assist volume control ventilation" and it would be compared to the current standard, "adaptive pressure control."

Eligible Conditions
  • Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
  • Respiratory Failure
  • Ventilator Associated Lung Injury
