Study Summary
This trial is investigating how different phases of the menstrual cycle affect a woman's response to resistance exercise.
Who is the study for?
Healthy females aged 18-30 with a regular menstrual cycle and BMI between 18.5 and 30 can join this study. They must not use hormonal contraceptives, have any major illnesses or metabolic diseases, consume tobacco or excessive alcohol, be pregnant, or take medication affecting protein metabolism.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The trial is studying how the different phases of the menstrual cycle affect muscle response to resistance exercise. Participants will perform unilateral resistance exercises on one leg while the other leg serves as a control to compare muscle protein synthesis during each phase.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this study involves standard resistance training exercises without drug interventions, side effects are minimal but may include typical exercise-related discomfort such as muscle soreness.

Experimental Treatment
Group I: Pre-Ovulation Unilateral Resistance ExerciseExperimental Treatment2 Interventions
One leg will undergo 2 sessions of unilateral resistance exercise during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle (pre-ovulation).
Group II: Post-Ovulation Unilateral Resistance ExerciseExperimental Treatment2 Interventions
One leg will undergo 2 sessions of unilateral resistance exercise during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle (post-ovulation).
