Study Summary

This trial will test if showing images of pleasant locations while exercising can help people stay motivated and improve their mood and physical health.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals in subacute rehabilitation who can consent (or have someone to consent for them), are at least 5'2" tall, have good vision, and can understand English or French. They must be admitted to specific rehab units where the study takes place. People with physical limitations that prevent biking, severe cognitive impairments, certain medical treatments, or behavioral issues that would interfere with participation cannot join.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests a new therapy using the jDome BikeAround system during regular therapy sessions over 12 weeks. This technology lets patients pedal on a stationary bike while viewing Google Earth images on a domed screen as if they're cycling through those places.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves physical exercise and visual stimulation from screens, potential side effects may include muscle soreness or fatigue from pedaling and eye strain or discomfort from looking at the screen.
