Study Summary

This trial will study if structured exercises can help preserve physical function in men with prostate cancer undergoing ADT.

Who is the study for?
Men over 60 with active prostate cancer starting hormone therapy for at least 6 months can join. They must be able to consent and expected to live more than 6 months. Those with conditions that limit exercise, recent fractures, joint replacements, or serious heart disease cannot participate.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if exercises like resistance training and flexibility/balance workouts can maintain muscle mass, strength, and physical function in men on hormone therapy for prostate cancer compared to a control group not doing these exercises.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
While the trial itself doesn't involve drugs that cause side effects, exercising may lead to muscle soreness or injury especially if not done correctly. Participants will be monitored for any exercise-related issues.

Men with prostate cancer who are about to begin androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) will attend structured progressive resistance exercise training sessions 2 times/week for six months.
Group II: Flexibility and Balance ExerciseActive Control1 Intervention
Men with prostate cancer who are about to begin androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) will attend flexibility and balance exercises training sessions 2 times/week for six months.
