Study Summary

This trial will adapt a Canadian program to see if it is effective in changing health behaviours (physical activity, diet, smoking) for Brazilians.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for Brazilians who smoke, are physically inactive (less than 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per week), or have an unhealthy diet (under five servings of fruits/vegetables daily). Participants must speak Brazilian Portuguese fluently and not be involved in other intensive health behavior studies. Those with mental or physical limitations that prevent full participation, or unstable clinical conditions are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests the effectiveness of a Canadian program adapted for Brazilians to change health behaviors related to physical inactivity, poor diet, and smoking. It's a 12-week randomized controlled trial involving education and behavior change techniques. Health and fitness assessments will occur before, after, and three months post-trial to measure changes.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves lifestyle modifications rather than medication, typical side effects associated with drugs aren't expected. However, participants may experience discomfort adjusting to new exercise routines or dietary changes.
