Fit5Kids Trial Summary

This trial will test an intervention called Fit 5 Kids to see if it can help Latino preschoolers stay at a healthy weight by being more active and eating better.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for Latino children aged 3-5 enrolled in one of the 20 Head Start Centers. It's open to all preschoolers regardless of current screen time or device availability at home, as long as their parents can fill out forms in English or Spanish. Only one child per family and those not underweight or needing medical supervision to gain weight can join.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The 'Fit 5 Kids' program aims to reduce screen time among Latino preschoolers to encourage more physical activity and healthy eating habits, with the goal of preventing obesity. The effectiveness of this curriculum will be tested within Head Start programs.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves a lifestyle change rather than medication, there are no direct side effects like you'd expect from drugs. However, changes in routine may cause temporary resistance or behavior changes in some children.
