- This person is aged between 65 and 75.You are taking certain medications for high blood pressure that can affect your blood sugar levels.You are taking medications that affect the way your body digests or metabolizes drugs.You typically eat more than 100 grams of carbohydrates per day.You have diabetes.You are not willing to follow the recommended diet plan.You need someone else to prepare your meals for you.You are taking opioid pain medication every day.You have experienced a significant weight change of more than 4 kilograms in the last month.You are currently following a specific diet plan.You are a smoker or use tobacco products.You have a gastrointestinal condition.You have had a knee replacement surgery.You cannot participate if you do extreme exercise.You have a history of eating disorders or other mental health conditions.You have heart or lung problems.You have experienced pain on 4 or more days every week for the last 3 months.Your body mass index (BMI) should be between 25 and 40 kilograms per square meter (kg/m2).You have trouble chewing or swallowing food.You have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.You identify yourself as either African American or Non-Hispanic White.
- Group 1: Black women
- Group 2: White women
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
