Study Summary

This trial will study how much benefit there is if pharmacists provide more assistance to seniors with urinary incontinence. Over a period of months, half of the people who talk to the pharmacist about their incontinence will be given general information about health and aging. The other half of the people will have a longer assessment and complete a questionnaire with the pharmacist. The pharmacist will then call and have a follow-up visit to see how the incontinence symptoms have improved. We will compare both groups to see whose symptoms were improved.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals aged 60 or older who experience lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and can read and communicate in English. Participants must be willing to consent to the study procedures and available for follow-up visits.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The trial is testing two approaches by community pharmacists: one group will receive general healthy aging leaflets, while the other will undergo a detailed assessment, complete a questionnaire, and have follow-up interactions with the pharmacist about managing LUTS.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive interventions like reviews and provision of information rather than medications or medical procedures, there are no direct side effects associated with these activities.
