- You are willing to comply with study directions and time-line.You must be able to speak English.You smoke or use tobacco regularly (at least 10 cigarettes per day).You are missing teeth in a specific area of your mouth and need dental implants.You have a history of not following instructions or taking care of yourself properly, such as not brushing your teeth regularly or abusing drugs or alcohol.
- Group 1: No soft tissue graft
- Group 2: connective tissue graft
- Group 3: Acellular Dermal Matrix
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.

"This medical trial seeks to recruit 27 individuals aged between 18 and 99 with alveolar ridge deficiency. Furthermore, participants must be registered UAB dental school patients, English-speaking, healthy enough for the proposed therapy, willing to comply with study instructions and timeline assessment criteria as well as demonstrate an understanding of their informed consent form. Additionally they must have insufficient alveolar width for implant placement (5mm or less) as determined by bone sounding and cone beam computed tomography scans paired with a need for implants in at least one quadrant of the mouth."
